The Breed Standard
The AKC Bulldog Standard is the blueprint for our breed. Responsible breeders strive to produce dogs that conform to this standard in both appearance and temperament. The standard describes the ideal Bulldog and guides breeders in making decisions that preserve the integrity of the breed.
Fluffy and fad-colored coats are not responsible breeding.

Bulldogs have specific health considerations that responsible breeders and owners should be aware of. Health testing of breeding stock is a priority for reputable breeders.
